Why Canadians choose LEDGR
Built in Canada
Made by Ledgr Financial Inc. for Canadian users, with CAD-aware subscription disclosure and a Canadian App Store listing.
Private by design
Read-only bank access through Plaid, no advertising, no sale of financial data, and transaction export and account-deletion controls.
Review before analysis
Imported activity is reviewed before it reaches the ledger, so transfers, card payments, exclusions, and categories can be made explicit.
Okay, but how does it work?
90 seconds to set up. Seriously. By dinner, you’ll get it.
Connect your bank in seconds.
Link your accounts through Plaid, the same secure connection used by Venmo, Robinhood, and thousands of other apps. Your credentials never touch our servers.
What will you discover?
Everyone finds something different. Here’s what most people don’t expect.
Where your money actually goes
Not where you think it goes. Where it actually goes. The answer usually surprises people.
Your real savings rate
Most people guess 15%. The real number is usually lower. Knowing it is the first step to changing it.
The subscription you forgot about
Most people find 2 or 3 subscriptions they forgot they were paying for in the first week. That is usually $30 to $80 a month, straight back to you.
What you can afford next year
A vacation? A down payment? A career change? LEDGR shows you the math, not just the dream.
Switching from Mint, YNAB, or Monarch?
If you are replacing Mint, YNAB, or Monarch, the important question is not whether every app has charts. It is whether the workflow fits how you want to manage a month. LEDGR is for people who want to review imported activity, keep account context visible, build a Spending Plan, and then use one consistent ledger for savings, net worth, recurring charges, and a monthly Top Signal.
LEDGR may fit if
You want a guided monthly review, both bank and CSV import paths, and web and iPhone access.
Check before choosing
Plaid coverage and reauthentication vary by institution. Confirm your bank in the connection flow and keep CSV export as a fallback.
Budgeting in Canada: FAQ
Is LEDGR available in Canada?
Yes. LEDGR is built in Canada by Ledgr Financial Inc. The web app is available in a browser and LEDGR Money is available on the Canadian App Store.
Does LEDGR work with Canadian banks?
LEDGR uses Plaid for bank connections, but institution and account availability can change. Check your bank in the secure Plaid flow. If a connection is unavailable or needs attention, LEDGR also supports CSV import from a bank export.
Is my financial data safe and private?
LEDGR uses read-only Plaid connections, does not sell financial data, and does not run ads. You can export transactions or request account deletion. The Privacy page explains how production data is stored and processed.
Is LEDGR free?
LEDGR offers a 14-day trial on eligible plans. The web checkout or App Store sheet shows the current price, currency, renewal period, and cancellation terms before you start.
How is LEDGR different from Mint, YNAB, or Monarch?
LEDGR is designed around a review-first monthly workflow: import activity, confirm categories and exclusions, push a clean ledger, then use Spending Plan, Insights, and one monthly Top Signal from the same data.
